YUM Americans now spend more money on fast food than they do on higher education, personal computers, software or new cars. They spend more on fast food than on movies, books, magazines, newspapers, videos and recorded music - combined. MUY YUM Customers are drawn to familiar brands by an instinct to avoid the unknown. 'We cannot trust some people who are noncomformists', declared Ray Kroc, a founder of McDonald's. 'We will make conformists out of them in a hurry... The organisation cannot trust the individual; the individual must trust the organization....' Lloyd Heslip is an artist who uses both real and virtual media. His works have been shown in the US and Germany. He uses photography, drawing, painting, digital creation/manipulation and dreams to inform\express his work. Recently his dreams have involved an image of himself speaking into a microphone constantly repeating, "Would you like fries with that?" Last year, the typical American ate about thirty pounds of french fries, mostly at fast-food restaurants. Indeed, french fries are ordered more frequently at American restaurants than any other dish.
